I would more likely end up working my ass off twelve hours a day in exchange, with not even a thank you.
There was a person who had unlimited access to Collins and was the only one who could know where he was at any time, a guy named Joe O’Reilly. He is the slender (and probably armed) man behind Collins in this picture:
O’Reilly was defined by Frank O’Connor as being Collins’s “courier, clerk, messenger boy, nurse, slave”. He was also the most usual end of his boss’s bouts of bad temper. However, he loved Collins to bits and was devastated by his death. Poor Joe probably got PTSD from the experience
