What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?
Which daily routine do you never skip?
I have a few things that I do every day no matter what – even if I am camping: wash my face, put on my face moisturizer, and brush my teeth. My Mother died at 90 with every one of her teeth. I plan to do the same:)
Do you have a daily routine and how do you maintain it?
Yes. This is something I’ve been asked pretty frequently about so I’m happy to share it here for anyone interested.
My daily routine is as follows, and to be honest, doesn’t shift all that much:
6:30 am – 7:00 am: Wake up, shower, get dressed
7:00 am – 7:15 am: Read 2 pages from “Manifest Your Desires,” and meditate.
7:15 am – 8:00 am: Prepare my meals for the day, make breakfast, and eat. With this, I either listen to music or a TED talk and then sometimes read while I’m eating.
8:15 am – 9:00 am: Commute to work and read or listen to music (or both) on the train.
9:00 am – 5:30/6:00 pm: Learn, build, grow, and do great work for great clients (I work at an advertising agency and Think Tank called Idea Booth in Chicago).
5:30 pm/6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: This is when I schedule any meetings, meet up with prospective clients/friends for coffee, or squeeze in a little personal work/writing time.
7:00 pm – 8:00 pm: Commute back to my apartment, read or listen to music (or both) on the train.
8:00 pm – 8:30 pm: Smash a pre-workout meal, change into my gym clothes, and head to the gym.
8:30 pm – 10:00 pm: Workout
10:00 pm – 11:00 pm: Come home, clean all my dishes from that morning’s meal prep, do some meal prep for the next day, turn my phone off, cook dinner, and clear my head.
11:00 pm – 12:00 am/12:30 am: Write.
Repeat.
For the most part, I try to keep my social life to the weekends, although I realize I’m not a robot, and as a human, there are absolutely days when I leave work and decide I’m going to abandon the rest of my day and just do something fun instead. Nothing wrong with that, and if anything I see the value of it. But as someone very goal-oriented, I like to stay focused on the big picture and overall daily habits that ultimately build the result.
Now the question: How do I maintain it?
I say no to a lot of things.
Even this past year, I’ve had to acknowledge that I said yes to a lot of people and opportunities, and maybe took on more than I could realistically handle in some cases. But at the same time, if I look at how many times I said no, that list far outweighs the “yes” list.
The key to sticking with your schedule your habits and your practices is saying no. It’s not about shutting the world out. It’s about understanding honoring and putting yourself first. There is a fine line here however, in the sense that I will always find ways to shift or even break my schedule for those closest to me—I will give up putting myself first to put someone else that I truly value first, and there’s great importance in that. After all, what good is it to achieve the world if you have no one to share it with?
The hard part comes in making the judgment call between how often to say yes and when to say no. It’s a balancing act, and one that takes practice to fully master—and even then, you’ll go through ups and downs of feeling either pulled in a million directions or being so disconnected that you have no social interaction.
The key is to not stop trying. Some days will go smoothly, others will be a challenge. Some days you’ll finish everything you needed to get done, and others you won’t accomplish a single thing—and that’s ok. What’s important is that you wake up the next day and make a conscious decision as to where you want to move next, and you honor yourself for having the awareness to make that decision in the first place.
Thank you for the question.
I do not skip on the following daily routines:
Having two big glasses of warm water in the morning. This has become such a habit that I feel thirsty upon waking up.
Taking a shower every day. I never skin showerthougit’sss fine to skip a day when the weather is too cold. I just feel positive and good after a shower so it is a must every day.
Applying sunscreen. This is a must and should be a must for everyone even when at home as the sun’s rays can penetrate. You can skip when sunlight hardly enters your house.
Moisturizing body. It is important to note for

Do you have a daily routine and how do you maintain it?
A dear friend asked me recently if I always wear makeup every day. Of course, I replied. I’d have to say that putting your best face on (pun intended) is probably my most important daily ritual. To get there, though, requires more than just makeup. It’s bathing, teeth brushing, hair styling, picking out the right outfit — and doing all this without inconveniencing or delaying others who may …

How do I maintain a daily routine?
Make Things A Must – “Do or do not, there is no try.” – Yoda. Either you commit to it strongly enough for it to not be negotiable, or you don’t commit to it at all. Daily routines require willpower and determination at first. It gets easier over time only if you are committed.
Progress Slowly – One habit at a time. One day at a time. A little bit right now goes a long way. Remember that habits are daily battles, not one-time wars. You must be willing to fight every day to win in the end.
Do It Poorly Rather Than Not At All – It does not matter how you end up fulfilling your habit as lon
What is your favorite routine?
I am a govt. officer working in a metro city.
My favorite routine is like this-
Wake up at 5 am and do 10 minutes of meditation followed by 20 minutes of running.
At 5:30 am do some 25 minutes hard-core exercise.
6 am brushing, shower all other daily routine stuff.
7 am- 7: 30 am breakfast and listen to AIR News.
My breakfast contains sprouts, milk, soaked dry fruit, fruits, and one more thing.
Read the HINDU for the next 1 hr.
Practice 20 minutes of English in front of a mirror since my English is horrible.
Prepare for office as office timing is 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
I go to the office by bicycle since the office is 6 km from my flat.

What is the easiest way to start a new habit?
Don’t overengineer it!
In other words, make the change as small as possible.
You can:
Tip #1. Keep it simple.
Every habit we’d like to acquire needs self-discipline, time, and repetition. Maybe you feel that this month it’s time to make some kind of change in your life: start working out, stop eating out so much, get more sleep, find more time to spend with family, or watch TV less. The key to keeping a good habit stick is to make it simple so you don’t find it intimidating, exhausting, and overwhelming. Start with tiny steps. Do a mini-workout at home for 10 minutes this month before you buy that
What should I do to stick to my routine?
Let’s say that I am on my way to accomplishing something.
For example “I want to get healthy so I am going to work out every day.”
Things start OK but then I miss a day or two or more.
It will be easier to accomplish my goal if I am elastic.
If I forgive myself.
If instead of saying “Oh no I have failed” I say “falling off the wagon is an integral part of one day remaining on the wagon”.
If I say “Relapsing is a part of recovering.”
It’s so important to look at the big picture, to conceive of the progress of something non-linear, but directionally correct.
Truly disciplined people learn to cut
The most difficult thing for me to be without would be missing my morning tea or coffee. I had tried to miss it a few years ago… I was lost I felt.. from then till now have never attempted that habit…. While rest like alarm, washroom habits, etc do keep changing… http://www.queenbeeszone.com
What is your daily preparation routine?
I never followed a strict routine during my preparation. However, I used to study at night till morning. So, I used to sleep around 6 AM and get up around 1-2 PM. I preferred studying till early morning because it used to be peaceful and soothing.
Most of the time, I used to follow my schedule of study. And would try to complete it by the end of the day.
I am an avid tea drinker. And I forced down this habit of mine on my two roommates or should I say influenced them to drink tea. We used to drink 5–6 cups of tea/coffee daily and it became hectic for a person to make tea again and again. So, it
Why is it good to have a routine?
You decide you are going to run every day.
You map out a route to follow every morning. It starts flat, has hills, a curve, a park, and then the home stretch. It takes around 40 minutes.
You set the alarm for the same time and the loop never varies, but every day is completely different.
That hill sure feels steeper today, doesn’t it? And the park, normally placid, frustrates you. How slow everyone is moving, the obstructions in your path.
This isn’t because the route is different, but because you are.
You see your inner fluctuations more clearly because they stand out against the backdrop of an identity
